Game Chat Rules

Some time ago the GM's got on and announced rules for world chat in PDO. Well some ppl have a hard time with the rules, well here they are so ppl can look over them.

For World Chat, State Chat, and Nation Chat.

All langages are accepted if you really use it to communicate. But don't spam the world chat in your language (except English) disregarding other players. Take other chat options when your chat hinder others' communication. (so it can be moderated)
No Spamming. (obvious)
No full sentences in capital letters all the time. (occasional CAPS to get attention is allowed, but no more than 3 practice in an hour)
Cursing is allowed as long as it's doesn't get out of hand. (ex. This is ok: damn i *blanked* up. This is not ok: *blank* you asshole -towards a player)
No racial, religious, or coitus slander in regards to another player.

GM will not take actions to any player's account for their personal issues in game. Let's make our game world a clean and friendly community. GM has the right to ban any account who violates the rules when we think it's necessary.

GM do not accpet any kind of "evidence" provided by players, such as screenshots, chat log etc.

This does not pertain to Local, Nearby, Whispers, or Team chats.

I see a lot of non-english chat all the time.

I think I shouldn't let it bother me, but since I'm always paying attention to status changes on the chat window, it gets to me sometimes and I start to lose interest in the chat window.

Maybe we should have a feature where we can silence world chat without covering up the chat window so that we can still see team messages, system messages, etc.

I have a question about chat rules, Maven states that "GM do not accept any kind of "evidence" provided by players, such as screenshots, chat log, etc., but there is never a GM in game or a moderator that reports to the GMs when someone is breaking the rules.

An example is tonight a character was made named (GM)_Uselless, I took screenshots but refrained from posting them due to these rules. GM_Uselless used an inappropriate level of profanity towards all players of PDO as well as an inappropriate level of profanity towards the GMs about the game.

I realize that most players know how to use the blacklist feature but what about new players that have not learned to use this feature. It seems that someone would be put off about playing this game seeing this kind of crap in the chat. Also, if the character is in another state, we cannot blacklist them unless we waste our time by traveling to each state to find them and blacklist them.

I don't feel that PDO chat is an friendly as it once was, being that there are several players that are kept on everyone's blacklist for the way that they behave towards other players in the game. In my opinion, it is probably these people that make such characters as listed above, so that people are forced to give them attention. These people do not make this game fun to play or enjoyable for anyone. There is no way to avoid people who are like this, but shouldn't these people, who break the chat rules, at least be punished, instead of believing they can get away with everything?
Well, for one these rules are old and I "used" to enforce them as best I could. But, remember, when I did you and a few others went out of y'alls way to make it difficult on purpose. So the moderation stopped since it was what y'all wanted. Now you're are what, asking for moderation to return?

And to note Maven did not state what's in this post, as it was edited by Royal who changed it.

Lastly have a good day.

Firstly, I apologize for my past behavior towards you and your job to moderate the game chat. I realize now, that without you, and other moderators, directing the flow of a chat room, that the game is less fun and the way I acted made the game less fun for you and others. I also did not realize how out of hand a chat channel can get without moderation but I do now.

I never said that I wanted moderation to stop, I just thought that some were over doing it a little. It seemed, from my perspective, that people who should have been warned about certain things were being let free to do as they please, while others who were not affecting others in a negative way, were being warned aggressively. I guess that I should've realized that I would not know if others were being repremanded or not because I would not be apart of their punishment. I thank you for the job that you once did because the game was fun then and you did your job well.

I do not claim that I am perfect and have never broke chat channel rules, because I have. What I do know is that if I were punished, such as banning for a brief period of time, instead of repetitve warnings in PM, I would've been less likely to continue to break chat channel rules and disrespect you and your position. Again, I apologize for my childish behavior.

As for the note about Maven not stating what's in the post because it was edited by Royal, who changed it, I am not sure what is meant. If you mean that Maven wrote the message but Royal ediited it, that makes sense to me. I have ideas as to why it was editted but will not share them, in the case that I am wrong. Thank you for replying to my post, I thought I would get negative feedback from other players and instead was given an opportunity to continue a conversation that I hope will improve PDO for new players and mend a dwelling resentment towards my past behavior.

I hope that you have a good day, too.
I accept the apology and thanks. And the edited part pertained to the GM's not taking actions, or accepting evidence. I didn't put that in originally.
