This is supposed to be a suggestion to our GMs. Since some players seem to love to abuse the world chat for their private trashtalk for hours and hours I would like to have the option to shut off the world chat just as I can shut off guild chat, local and all the other chats. Its not only the fact that they keep ranting for hours and hours, it´s also the stuff they talk. 90% of it is rude and straight out perverted trash. I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO READ THAT!!! I know I can blacklist these players, but I don´t think that it should be my duty to chase down players somewhere in PDO to blacklist them, just because noone taught them any manners when they grew up. Also should GMs start to monitor the world chat for this kind of profanity and take appropriate action to get rid of such players. I do not care if they exchange the worst kind of porn stories in this game, but pls make them do it in private chat and not where I have to read this trash.

Please post a screenie of the offensive language and if it goes to far I am sure that engy will do something about it.

I agree, vulgarity is one thing , but talk that is is racist or [***]istly abusive should be stopped immediately.

Here is the problem, rules mean nothing without enforcement. Ans since I have been playing this game I have never seen anyone banned for anything but credit card fraud.

So the impression that I am left with is that as long as it doesnt affect engy's pocketbook then he is ok with it.

GM's in this game cant even organize an event I doubt they are even here enough to matter.
That is why I use the blacklist, specifically because they wont do anything about it.
I wish they would.

Well, at least in Germany the provider of a game can be held responsible for not doing anything about it unless his game is not actually set up to be for adults only. And since I have never seen some remark that you have to be 18+ (legal age in Germany) Engy should  try to enforce this matter just to be on the safe side. Otherwise he might get into trouble if some upset parents get a glimpse on what is going on in the game.

The best any mod can do is take screenshots and give them to the GM's, after that it's in the air.

Oh, I´m aware of that Mave. I don´t say this can be solved within 10 minutes. But once a mod hands these screenshots to the GMs there should follow some action from their side.

i agree with nuo cause a lot of this player are really young and its not really the best thing they can read there
last time i pm vegi for stoping it cause my daughter was playing at this time (and ty for stoping at this time vegi) but is there really a need to remember ppl about there manners?

im sry for the ppl who like talking in this way but they ve to remember this is a game with an international com. so every time there will be young ppl online who can read this [***] and i believe if they would ve kids in this game they wont type in that way.

I agree with Yasira.  Players of all ages come to PDO.  Even though this is the Internet and PDO is not geared towards younger audiences, I still believe that people should refrain from vulgar language.  If each of us makes an effort to stop the pervasive use of vulgar language in the game, all of us, in my opinion, will have a much nicer experience.  In addition, it will improve the initial impressions of this game for new players.  

There was a small discussion on this topic in the "Rules" thread.  I'm glad Mave posted up some of the chat rules set be the GMs.  However, rules aren't any good if they can't be enforced.  Without enforcement, they become instead guidelines and recommendations with no real punishment for breaking them.

2. Why do you let your kids play an MMO surrounded by adults, its just like letting them go to a party with adults, their gonna hear things and their probably gonna get talked to?  I remember when I was younger my parents wouldn't let me do hardly anything with adults, that included games.
3. You don't have to read it, theres 500million words said in world chat a day, I might actually pay attention to 5 of them.
4. It doesn't matter what you think, we're gonna do it anyway. Not trying to be an ass or anything but why should I stop doing what I think is kinda fun and not annoying to me, while someone can spam world chat for a TQ 500million times every chance they get and everyone is perfectly fine with it? O wow vegi we are being set up.   Looks like we got someone trying to get us banned.  For one I don't make alts to talk [***] If I'm gonna talk [***] I'll be on my main because I don't have anything ti hide.....Looks like noukiln or sa7er pulling a fast one lol....thats aswome

check the ip of that account. I tell you right now that niether of us...and the pseron doing that should be banned as that's cheap and dirty to pull something like that...even for me

The places that I go to with my children have plenty of adults, but they respect others by not trying to offend everyone. And if an adult uses fould language around my kids or my wife ( or anyone that looks like they are offended by it then I say something to them about it. Most of the time they appologize. Sometimes I need to make the point a little clearer to them before they get the picture but eventually they understand.

Basicly its the same argument over and over. " I can act however I want and you cant stop me, so there " This is not acceptable in any society, I dont see why this one is any different.

vegi I dont think anyone is trying to get you to stop being the way you are. I think what they are trying to do is get the GM"s to do something about people who are the way you are.

Many games have language controls on them to prevent this. I believe that engy will eventually take notice and ban the worst offenders, if the community as a whole decides they wont tolerate it.

This is not a personal attack on you vegi but I am sure that you will find something nice to say to me in return. As you usually do.
