Elysium

A discussion with Eng about my past experiences with mimicking keyboard and mouse inputs led me to an idea.  Elysium will become much more later, but for now it extends Screenshot functionality to anything you are doing.  This version is Alpha code and may be buggy.  All it does for now is let you map a key which is intercepted and then a screenshot is taken and saved into a selected directory.  As of yet it will only take a screenshot of the entire screen.  Taking a shot of the current window might be in later versions.  As I release new versions, I will update below.  If you find an error, PM me what the error is and what you were doing to generate the error.

DISCLAIMER: This is not an official PDO program.  Ingle Games does not endorse, own, or fix errors in this application.  As with all applications, you should scan this application to make sure it does not contain any viruses and that it is not connecting to the internet when it shouldn't.  Use this program at your own risk.  Neither Ingle Games nor I are responsible for anything that happens due to the use of this application.  While I would never use my powers for evil, others may take my code and alter it.  All users are warned to be wary of downloading programs from people/locations that you do not absolutely trust.

That being said, if anyone would like to scan Elysium (both for viruses and for unauthorized internet access), you may post your endorsement.

Now for the instructions.

Run the setup file in the zip.  This will "install" the game.  It will put a shortcut both on your desktop and in your start menu.  Also, the startmenu has an uninstall for the application.

After the Elysium is installed, run it.  You will see the image below.  Select the key you want to bind to save the screenshot in the drop down.  By default it is F12.  Select the location by clicking the browse button.  It will remember your settings (and save them for next time) as you change them.  Minimize the window and open PDO.  You can press the key you selected and it will save the screenshot to the location you specified.

NOTE: You have to leave the program running (it can be minimized) for it to work.

Version 1.0

  • Added configurable key for screenshot functionality.
  • Added configurable location to save the screenshots.

Bugs

  • Whole screen is taken in screenshot, not just the active window.
  • The save location only changes if you use the browse button.

Future Additions

  • Minimize to the System Tray
  • Hotkey overrides with an escape key

PDO doesn't have a screenshot key, or at least on vista it doesn't save the SS.  This program works around that.

If I press the print Button it makes a screen which is saved in the PDO-Screenshotfile ^^

I am on a laptop which does not have a "Print" button.  I have "Print Screen" which does nothing.  I assume that because I am on Vista, and the application is in the program files that authorization is requested (and denied), thus no image is saved.  I will post this as a bug in the bug section.

Broken...
I don't know vista well but I am curious.

You know the On-Screen keyboard?  Do you have a print screen button aka psc there?
Placate me and try it out...
The "print" and "print screen" are probaby the same thing but curious kills me =^.^=

I don't use the onscreen keyboard.  I'm talking about my laptop keyboard.  Besides, if you have the UAC enabled, Vista protects all files/folders in your program files folder.  I believe this is why screenshots do not work for me.
